西雅圖夫婦一家到訪

西雅圖夫婦到了西雅圖差不多三年了，今次回來感覺和以往沒樣。唯一不同是多了四個小孩子。（每家兩個）。以往可以打麻將，現在一切都是小孩子為先。

DIY

看HGTV太多，學人家DIY。因為Darren食飯時太骯髒了，把本來白色的餐椅布改成新的紅色布。換布的程序十分簡單，首先，扭鬆螺絲釘把坐墊拆下來。把坐墊放在新布上量度正確的尺碼(每邊加大約三吋)，把布料剪下來。再把坐墊反過來，拉緊布，再用釘書槍把布釘緊。把坐墊放回椅子上，扭緊螺絲便完成。

Bethesda 一日遊

上星期六，康少奶攪錯了，以為Darren的音樂班開始了，原來之後那星期才是。難得有機會單獨帶阿「米」出來，順便和他一起到Bethesda一日遊。

Bethesda Lane
Bethesda 可以說是Maryland,大華府附近的一個小蒲點。而Bethesda Lane是Bethesda裡新的一個half 住宅 half 商業的小區域，街裡沒有車行，比較安全。

一間叫作CACAO的西餅／咖啡店。 叫了一個Raspberry moose 蛋糕，算是我在美國食的比較好的cake。

cake 很不錯， 連一杯cappuccino才US＄6，算是便宜。但是那個紙碟，真是不敢恭維。

Darren 吃得津津有味。

虛驚一場

前晚Darren已經開始有點發燒，晚上一點左右我便陪了他一個晚上。昨天仍然沒有退燒，下午還去到103度。但給了motrin後，便下幹到101度。誰不知晚上九時許，他的情況開始轉差，發燒持續，開始喘，Darren還哭 說 I can't talk (我不能說話）， 可能因為他有點sore throat 喉嚨痛， 失聲了。 立刻帶他去Nighttime,一個開到晚上12時的walkin 診所。幸好我們去前已經給了他一個dose的Albuterol。5分鐘後，他已經沒有呼吸困難了。最後在診所待到差不多一時才回家。我們最緊張的是他有沒有得了H1N1 flu， 幸好感冒測試是negative(否定)。虛驚一場。

沒有「屋企緣」

剛收到大哥的電郵網上相簿，很有點兒唏歔。看到婷婷和蓓蓓已經長大了，是少女了。Ashley 和 Claire 都大了很多。Bryce 也一歲了。很可惜我這個三叔叔和三舅父都沒有機會看他們一起大。明明大家都在美國，但又偏偏分隔東西兩岸，差不多每兩年才見一次半次。實在沒有「屋企緣」。至於在香港的更加不用說，有時要兩，三年才見一次。很想很想和屋企人住得近一點，或者最低限度都可以見多一點，但是沒有緣便是沒有緣，連這個簡單願望也很小可以實現。沒辨法，生活迫人，為了生活得好一點，做IT的我實在很難回港發展。到西岸的可能性大一點，但也不容易。現在住馬里蘭洲的我，生活是可以，但實在孤獨了一點。雖然Darren 和 Lea 有大家做玩伴，但還是有多一些cousins一起大好一點。

為食的Lea看著媽媽給爸爸做的生日蛋糕，口水都流下來了！

裝修紀之- 廚房（一）

當我們決定買這房子時，已經知道需要一update(更新). 如deck(露台）需要修理，hardwood floor(地板）需要打磨，廚房需要裝修，地板，櫃面都需要換新的。五行欠（水）（沒錢），只可以一樣一樣來。

第一樣換的是雪櫃，因為它漏水。

接下來準備裝修廚房, 先做地板。

用了個的長週末，星期六打價，星期六晚買地磚，星期日和星期一（labor day) 請裝修工人把地磚安裝好。 看看之前和之後的對比,還可以吧!

 

之後準備繼續裝修廚房。要挑選才料，上面提到的地磚用一種叫做Travertine的天然石。 櫃檯用黑色的Granite(雲石），洗碗盆用這個
