Memorial Weekend - Day Two
Memorial Weekend 的第二天,早上有點累,就待在家裏。其間我到了Lowes做搬運工人,整整搬了十三包三、四十lbs的泥回來,準備把後園patio以外的地方作花園時用。到了下午,一家四口,百無聊賴決定到朋支介紹過,離家大約四里左右的Black Hill Reginonal park 走走。這一去,Darren你就開心了。一個巨形的Playground,又或是一大片草地,都令他興奮莫明。最後還來一個「樂而『不』返,幾經辛苦才把他送回車上。

Memorial Weekend.
Memorail Day is an official Day in US to honored any military personal who died in service. For most american though, the weekend is usually the weekend that unofficially started Summer of that year. As a immigrant living in maryland, we do not have a lot of relatives, luckily, we do have a bunch of friends from the college years who see each others regularly. On Day one of the weekend, we went to "Doctors" house for a "potluck BBQ". We brought some porter house steak marinted with a receipe that we found on foodnetwork.com. Everybody like it. We also brought some Water Melon. Everybody prepared something nice. Except the "西門" family, they just bring some hot dot and sausage from the supermarket. Luckily, the kids all love hot dog, so at least they bought the right food.
Memorial Day 是美國對戰爭中殉職軍人紀念的日子。但今天大多數人都會把它作為「非官方」夏日的開始。一般也愛在這個週末和親友一起BBQ。住在馬洲,親人不多,還好一班大學時期認識到現在的朋友還常有見面,才不至於太過孤單。今年到了博士家BBQ,大家各自帶一些食物去燒。我們帶了porterhouse steak,還不錯。還帶了消暑的西瓜,大家都喜歡。其他人都帶了一些些不錯的食物,最「行」的是西門一家,只帶了現成的「熱狗」,還好孩子們都愛熱狗,算是買對了吧!BBQ後才是「細路」們的戲玉,大一點的到後園玩「飛碟」小一點的友露台上玩Bubbles,不翼樂乎!

Darren: 這是什麼? What's that?
康少奶:吸塵機。Vacuum Cleaner
Darren: Okay
康少奶把地毯吸了。 (Mama Hong vacuumed the area rug)
Darren:兄弟,做得好! (Good job! Buddy!)

One of Darren's favorite game is "fill in the blanks", we will read his favorite books, left out the last word of each sentence and he will fill it in. For example:
Darren 其中一個最喜愛的遊戲是 "填充", 我們會讀他喜愛的書,但在每一句的最後一個字都省了,讓他來填補。舉例:

Darren: MAMA媽媽,
Papa Hong: "Sift everything together. But don't sneeze! You'll wake up...把材料篩在一起。不要打噴嚏, 會吵醒( ___)!
Darren: PEE PEE 尿尿
Papa Hong: Ah Choo! "Sh-h-h! Don't wake up (__)!"哈啾,不要吵醒( ___)!
Darren: PEE PEE 尿尿
Papa Hong: Why are you keep saying pee pee, it should be Mama....為什麼你不段說尿尿呀,是媽媽才對呀……
At this time, Mama Hong quickly grab Darren and hurry to the powder room.. "You want to Pee-Pee? " She pull his pants and diaper off, and there he go, pee right on target :)
這時媽媽一手把Darren抱過來:「你要尿尿嗎?」快速的媽媽把D arren推進客廁,把褲了和尿片脫掉,不用三秒,Darren就成功尿尿,擊中目標了!
He was saying pee-pee because he need to go pee-pee

有型嗎?其實是Darren八月將會入讀的Franklin School送的。那天是它們設的一個聚會,讓家長和老師認識一下。又給學生們熟習一下班房。結論是Darren一定沒有問題,一到班,其他同學還在躲在母親背後,他二話不說就開始玩了。希望以後都是這樣吧!

母親節與Sushi
上星期日是Lea出世的第一個母親節,康少奶身為一子一女之母,本來應卻十分開心的,但卻為了一點私事不開心了一整天。幸好康少奶是一個十分容易把不快忘記的人,又加上我買她最愛的yurikosushi,吃著就把不愉快忘記了。(每一次她不開心,Sushi都會令她開心過來,萬試萬靈。)

場景: Doctor Office (診所)
Mama Hong took Baby Lea to the Doctor office for a 2 months check up. She brought Darren along. While they are waiting, Mama Hong and Darren walked towards the "sick" children wing, and there was no body.
Darren: What's this? (這是什麼？)
Mama: Room for sick baby. (生病嬰兒的等候室)
Darren: It's empty (空的)
Mama: Yes. (是)
Darren: How come? ( 為什麼0
Mama: Cause no body is sick. (因為沒有病人)
At this time, a sick patient came in to the waiting room. 在這個時候,一個病人到了等候室
Darren: There they are. (他們到了)
Darren 2 Years old 檢查
Darren到了醫生處做了兩歲檢查,全部正常。無論語言或是其他方面,進度都算理想。醫生還多次encourge我們多和他說中文,不然他大了就不會說了。
身體方面:
身高36.5吋 95percentile
體重:29磅 75percentile
頭圍也是90pecentile
其本上還是大隻仔一名,希望以後都是吧!
Darren 兩歲生日會
Darren 兩歲了,時間真的過得很快。當然小不免要替他host一個生日會。今年沒有請這麼多人,就在家裏做。
小孩們,左起,西門女、西門子、博士仔、Darren、賭神之子、博士女和大堂女。
