Comcast 是美國的大cable／boardband 公司。 我一向都是它的顧客。有趣的是它常有一些hidden 的特惠計劃。這些special是連現有顧客都可以申請的。 今早就發現了boardband US＄19.9 per month的優惠了。我打了一個電話到，comcast不宵十分鐘，我就拿了$19.9/month for 12 months 的優惠， 還比 advertised的 6 months 多了一賠時間。真好！！！ 原賈要 $43/month 哩!!
HiVi 惠威 D1080mkii
終於買了一對 computer speakers。 是 HiVi (SWAN) D1080Mkii。 一向都對 Swan M200 及 M200Mkii 有興趣，but always think I have to pay too much premium getting them in US ( for the version with the 110v power supply). Finally found this one on newegg.com selling for US$79.99 as a combo deal with a US$19.99 surge protector. That makes the speaker cost just about US$60-65(free shipping too :). A quick internet search tell me the same speakers are selling for more or about the same price even in China.
It arrived on Dec 28th. I nervously waited til my son went to bed at 9pm, then opened up the box, hooked it up with my ipod and fired it off. Initially, I was a little bit disappointed, probably because all the great reviews that I have read had raised my expectation to an unreasonable level. Also, I must have got used to the higher end sounds from my HT/stereo set. However, after I do a direct comparison with the Monitor Audio i-deck ( which is probably one of the better ipod system around). The DM1080Mkii gives obviously a better sound. The sound was much fuller and give more details. The only complain I have is when hooks up with the ipod ( video ), I have to turn the volume of the ipod pretty high to let it play loud enough.
After I hooked it up with my computer, I do not have the same problem, it can go quite loud. I won't compare it to any seperate components stereo system.. But it is very good mulitimedia speakers, and better than just about any computer speakers under $300 in CompUSA, BESTBUY ...etc
All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and wonder if the M200mkii will be much better :) Hee hee!
